The mission behind Local Pop-Up Shop has always been to Connect Louisiana Creators & Makers directly with Customers while Celebrating all things Local.
We opened the doors to our inaugural Local Pop-Up Holiday Shop in December 2018. With an overwhelming response to the week-long Pop-Up Shop in Perkins Rowe, we doubled down the following year. In November 2019 we had over 50 makers featured, extended the Pop-Up to two weeks, and tripled workshop & featured events. In early 2020, we were excitedly viewing spaces and dates for the Holiday Marketplace.
In March 2020 we made a decision to put that planning on pause and devote our time to our family of makers. Spring is one of the best times to live in Louisiana: the music, festivals, food, the culture, it all blossoms just as the azaleas are in full bloom. With cancelations and postponements, this Spring will be different, but one thing we know about Louisiana: we will adapt and overcome this.
We began working on optimizing LocalPopUp.Shop, our virtual makers marketplace, in early March, in hopes to bring the Local Pop-Up Marketplace shopping experience to you, in the comfort of your home.
The Local Pop-Up Virtual Shop is an ever growing online marketplace filled with local small batch goods, products, crafts, & art. Our goal is for Local Pop-Up Virtual Shop to be a one-stop shop and place to support the local makers community we all adore. No matter: young, old, furry or fancy: shop local!
When shopping the Local Pop-Up Virtual Shop, you're supporting each of these local Louisiana Small Businesses directly. Every product listed in the Local Pop-Up Virtual Shop will be shipped directly by the maker while adhering to all safety shipping guidelines. Local Love TIP: when shopping a maker's collection page, consider picking up more than one product from them as a small way to show your love and support!
Look for updates and new products everyday on Local Pop-Up.Shop. We're collaborating with makers throughout Louisiana to bring maker favorites and fun exclusives!
If you are a Louisiana Small Business that would like to apply for the Local Pop-Up Virtual Marketplace, please apply and we will get back to you soon. There is no upfront cost for makers to join the Local Pop-Up Virtual Marketplace, so if you’re a Louisiana maker with spring festival inventory, or just want to share your craft in a collaborative community space, please don’t hesitate to apply.
If you have ideas on how to make this Virtual Marketplace better, questions, or media request: please contact us here.
